The Species of Excess

The discharged ex-NAVY SEAL and a gambling addict Dan Bilzerian became the role model to every young boy with a social media account. Dan claims that he made his fortune by two lucky poker bets but his critics point out to the inherited wealth given to him by his parents. The main talking points for Dan are no different than any celebrity millionaire who spends his time and money consuming luxury and indulging in excess. Dan represents a different generational shift towards being a “responsible” consumer and “living your best authentic life.” The difference is that he lives in a 56 million dollar mansion with his yachts, an open gym visible on his roof along with infinity pools, fountains, ATVs, guns, weed, money, and tons of women. In the LondonReal interview with Brian Rose, Dan explains how being the 1% of the 1% of men who sleeps with the most beautiful models is not at all that great. Brian asks Dan how he keeps all those women happy. ‘That is actually the most difficult piece of this,” says Dan says nonchalantly. “You got to sleep with all these girls and if you don’t, they get upset. There’s definitely a big sexual obligation to that.”

It would probably be an Incel who would mock at the sheer absurdity of Dan’s lifestyle… Oh! What a burden it is to have all these beautiful models wanting sex from you all the time. How hard you’re life must be to *** constantly. Oh, the burden! Dan states somewhere that he has sex at least twice a day. That’s 14 times a week, 56 times a month, 672 a year. At least!

Success gurus and PUA grifters would say that Dan’s strategy for attracting women is simply set up. Dan doesn’t use “game,” that is, he doesn’t exert his character in any way to attract women. He doesn’t bother to inconvenience himself for the sake of getting laid. Instead, he tells his followers to simply be the only choice that women have left. In the PUA culture, this is known as “logistical game.” Of course, one cannot overlook his $56 million dollar mansion that brings in celebrities, athletes, and influencers from all over the world.

When we think of expenditure we must think about expenditure without reserve (Bataille, The Accursed Share, 21). The element that gives human life comes the energy of the sun that produces excess heat. Sexual reproduction consists of taking that energy from the sun, converting it in bodily fluids in the form of bile, and extracting it with a mixture of little swimmers injected from the male testis. The average count of sperm coming out of the seminiferous tubules is about 500 million per ejaculation.

The Second Culling of the Species

What is being said more and more is that boys are falling off the exponential curve of available females. Many in the Manosphere worry that competition is becoming monopolized by the 1% of alpha males. More men under 30 are resorting to a scarcity strategy for attracting females. We may very well be entering into a second culling of the species. Hypergamy is essentially sexual selection on steroids. It’s the primary contributor to the relatively quick success that the species had compared to our primate cousins.

Sigmund Freud in his Civilisation and its Discontents postulated that it was “raising himself off the ground.. of an upright gait” that contributed to the loss of the sense of smell (Freud, 54). Because the nose was elevated higher from the ground, the parasympathetic energy reserved for the olfactory nerves went instead to the eye.

Females went through a phase in their evolution that allowed them to conceal their estrus. The concealed estrus was used as a paternal confusion machine. This meant that more and more pre-human females could strategize their ovulatory cycle to get impregnated by the male they wanted to but still get the provision from a provider male (Fürtbauer et al. 2011). It just made it that much easier to keep the process away from the conscious male. It was self-consciousness of the male triggered by their genetic information vanishing from the evolutionary gene pool (retroactively). His ancestral “ghosts” live within both males and families but it’s the animus male that carries the for-warning from the non-existing male genes that mistook their consciousness as no big deal. The eye that looks ahead symbolize the blessing of foresight but also the burden self-consciousness. The eye is also curse. It symbolizes one doing the watching, but also one being watched as well.

Many speculate that “race” was in fact the consequence of women needing their offspring to look like their tribe. The tribe’s homogeneity kept the offspring of a non-pair-bonding male similar enough so the pair-bonding male couldn’t tell the difference. But at the same time, the species also need to carry enough genetic diversity in the genetic stock for evolution to keep the human the apex predator. An intriguing theory could be made that sexual arousal for women is not whether to cheat or not. But it’s a kind of scrutiny that women possess; should she give up the pressures to keep up with the homogeneity of the tribe or to indulge in the genetic variation of the species. Their pair-bonding partner can always threaten to withhold provisions and protections if he ever doubts his child is not his. Primatologists like Jane Goodall observed that wars between Chimpanzee tribes were the result of scarce fertile females. Even though the non-pair-bonding partner is the seed provider (alpha male), beta males are still an apex predator. A disowned female (and her child) could still be at risk if the pair-bonded male discovered his infant looked a little more like us, and less like him.

Today, we have the hindsight of millions of years of evolution that tells us more than half of all males that existed never passed on their genetic code. This means that the species was made possible by “cuckolded” males but never contributed to the genetic stock. A vast sacrifice of pair-bonding males essentially protected, provisioned, and rationed their resources to offspring of non-pair-bonding males which lead to more promiscuity, (which lead to more sacrifice – which then leads to hyper promiscuity/ hypergamy). The sacrifices of pair-bonded males essentially exist external of the genetic stock as they were left out of the genetic stock. It is no coincidence the “cuck” meme is prevalent in the Second Great Culling of the Species. At a meta-level, we are self-conscious of our self-consciousness.

The typical office job is the memetic equivalent of a primate male being careless of leaving his dwelling for a potential alpha male to come in an make a genetic exchange with someone’s wife. It dawned on me that installing “smart” home security cameras indoors may not be intended for intruders looking to break into someone’s home from the outside. Self-consciousness may probably be the success the species needed to look ahead, and strategies one’s success one genetic passing at a time.

Expenditure as a zero-sum game

As for expenditure without reserve, masturbating seems like an asymmetrical paradox. On one side of the gender spectrum, men waste billions of sperm through their lifetimes through self-pleasure. Whereas women could enjoy orgasm without waste. The central thought revolves around enjoyment and how to maximize it. Many religions found it useful to affirm life without resorting to enjoyment. Enjoyment can not happen without the expense and sacrifice of the other. Which is why sacrifice is needed in order to enjoy life. If the symmetry was perfect, we would have an economic system like the system we today. Everybody contributes a few hours of their day to so that someone else in their after-hours could enjoy life out of theirs. This happens until they trade places and reciprocal exchange could be made. What seems odd to me is that the white-collar worker go to work at the same hour of each day, they go to lunch at around the same hour of every day as well. Much of the “work” is being done to people who are also working. The B2B industry is done to contribute as much empowerment to businesses that could leverage their final product to B2C companies that offer service to people who are in their “after-hours.” The ideal retirement is a pension where all leverages of industry flow to the retirees.

Stimulating the economy

There’s essentially a self-stimulation of two industries that are comparably male and female, B2B and B2C of which produce the infrastructure needed to take care of the next generation. If we build houses, highways, and rockets to Mars at all is because parents who are finished procreating are left to pander meaning and ideology to the next generation that ensures the survival of the species. Which is why expenditure-without-reserve causes so many adult anxieties. Influences like Dan Bilzerian throws an existential light into the anal reality in that we are simply a “glorified anus.” The anus is what grounds us and puts us into the process. The invention of fire wasn’t revolutionary at all. The invention of fire simply allowed us to extrapolate our guts out to the external world. Our limited reserved energy for digesting were freed up to build tall skyscrapers and elevate highways.

The fly-wheel is the business of business. Cooked meat started a fly-wheel the will never stop. Reserved energy needed to digest uncooked meat could now be re-allocated elsewhere like in the brain. More brainpower stimulated multiple fly-wheels. One fly-wheel is a bigger brain which leads to infants getting stuck in the birthing canal, this leads to infants being born prematurely at around 9 months, this leads to more parental investment to care for an extremely delicate child, which leads to higher social intelligence which leads to an even bigger brain. A continuation of the fly-wheel is done digitally carried by our legacy. We are mother nature selecting which ads to watch on Facebook or which males get selected to pass on to our genetic legacy.

The new threats to humanity

The artificial womb will suffer the same treatment as the sex doll industry. The new threat is not sexier women, but artificial ones. As soon as an artificial womb is sold commercially, it will be either banned or regulated. Western countries like the United States lead the ingenuity and innovation of sex dolls into robots. The legislature passed that limited which sex dolls could be sold and the banning of sex doll brothels. Soon, Japanese companies overtook the industry making realistic robots that moved and talk. What seems to happen is that the culling is accelerating. More and more males are going to prefer to marry anime waifus while the top 20% of males are left with even more women than they could ever keep track of. It seems like the states is becoming more and more hostel towards men not because they are evil but because that’s how it’s always been. Evolution is ruthless and doesn’t care about creates more absurdities. This is how the species thrive.

Condescending vs. Patronizing tones in Capitalistic Spaces: Insults are Under Attack

On occasion people will speak to somebody in a distasteful tone that insinuates conflict. One such tone is achieved by speaking condescending. The condescending speaker speaks as if he’s coming from a higher place. The listener refuses to accept his position as lower, thus brewing up conflict. Speaking in a patronizing manner is another example. A patronizing tone puts the listener above the speaker for the purpose of ensnaring them as soon as it is convenient. As soon as space collects its debts, the patronizing speaker betrays his listener to space. His subject is left feeling shortchanged.

We owe our existence to space. Space demands to be given what is worth. Enjoyment incurs benefits but it also incurs debts. These expenses incur in the virtual field, but they are immediately accrued as soon as enjoyment is affirmed. This means that a “winner” and a “loser” is automatically chosen in the actual field. The winner enjoys life, and the loser pays for it. It also makes enjoyment a case against life. It makes the one who witnesses somebody else enjoying life to take it away for himself. In order for the exchange to happen, a gift of space is given as a form of ensnarement. Speech can betray subjects by ensnaring them to space. Then the subject can pay for the enjoyment of the other. This can happen in two ways

  • with an offer
  • with force

What is an offer? An offer is a gift where the receiver has the option to accept it or not. When the gift is accepted, it registers onto a surface fromed by its own intensity. It is an immanent surface that forms in order to in-script all those exchanges. The layer (or surface) homogenizes these exchanges as comparative codes. Transactions flows smoothly because they are comparative with one another. When codes move fast, effortless, and frictionless, it is productive. The nomadic movement describes the first productive codes coming out from paranoiac investments from within the nomadic subject.

Nomadism first laid out developing territories from productive codes. A successful territory means that intensities within the nomad found closure by exhausting it. This means that development in nomadism never went past beyond closure. Developments ended as soon as the exchanged inscribed itself as a surface. This was the entire operation, to build a territory and then to abandon it for another. This is what it means for codes to be productive; value is exchanged with an equal and matched intensity found along the surface. Then, they move towards its own end because it exhausts itself into its own surface. This is how nomads territorialized one society after another before migrating to another. The surface (space) demands all costs because it was accrued for in the virtual field

The intensities from the natural, raw Earth must to return back to the Earth eventually. Nomads used productive codes to territorialize their land from raw resources. They knew that one day, the Earth will come and claim its debts. Death was imminent. When tyrannical forces conquered nomadic tribes, they forced their productive codes into developed codes. This is called growth. Growth takes on the movement by appropriation. Productive codes no longer wish to vanish into its own surface which means that the despotic machine must create a new surface that falls back to the original one and it must perpetually grow off of paranoiac investment.

Tyrannical forces conquered nomadic tribes by force. The despot forced productive codes into developed codes because they wanted to purge paranoiac investments out into the social field rather than have them exhausted back into the original body of the Earth. So, once in the social field, these investments continued to grow. Once developed, growth codes grew off of their own growth. Whenever someone insults somebody else, the intensity first travels in the nomadic kind. Then, is returns in the despotic kind. For someone to enjoy life, they must first take it from someone else. But capitalism forces codes to return to their original state. They must pay for enjoying life off of their expense. The offender must do this before capitalistic forces reterritorializes developed codes back into productive codes. Otherwise there won’t be an offence. He will come off too forceful, brutish, and cranky “old Mr. Stingy.”

The despotic machine forces comparative (homogenous) spaces into non-comparative (heterogeneous) spaces. This causes developed codes to all back to their original productive codes. Ironically, non-comparative spaces make codes compare with one another. But the developed surface is a quasi-cause because when developed codes fall back to their original surface, they appropriated productive ones. In other words, the despot takes the comparative codes and forces them to be non-comparative so that his victims can exists in both surfaces. The operation can now proceed as an insult by forcing paranoiac investments to be willed out from the victim by his own voluntary will. In capitalistic spaces, the despot can lose the operation if he undershoots his attack. Capitalism reterritorializes all codes back to productive codes. Before this happens, the investor must set up his pre-insult as a gift that travels in one surface and returns at another. All while standing in at the same surface as the victim but speaking to him as above him or below him. This is the tone that comes out as condescendingly or patronizing. The patronizing tone is the investor offering deterritorialized space while the condescending is receiving the gift back. He receives it back because the developed codes are already over-coded. It is often the case that the person who insults first or brutally over attacks his victim is the loser. This happens because capitalistic spaces muted the reterritorializing attempted from the offender to by getting there first.

The paradox is observed when a one receives the gift of knowledge. The learner is better off than before because he can now grow in a developed economy. Afterall, one must be in the wrong before being in the right. The goal is to shortchange the victim before capitalism returns developed codes back to productive ones thereby effectuating a Sadomasochistic relationship. When the insulter turns his victim into a masochist, the flow stops because the insulter now becomes a sadist. Both purges paranoiac investments into each other. To form human currency, it happens by placing the victim into a double bind. The gift of knowledge i not free. A common phrase uttered in altercations is “I want to teach you a lesson.” Once returned, the gift contains overcoded intensities that can be purged by watching his victim in misery. Thus, an insult has occurred

What does it mean when a county has a developed economy? Do developing economies fall under the appropriate mark? Developed nations often spend more than they can earn. It faces a paradox. It is the social formation that paranoiac forces must represent as the case against life. But it is enjoyment itself that is the case against life. And people fight to attain enjoyment even if it’s from other. All trauma, all dissatisfactions, all depression is conditioned under the eye of developed nations. This is why insults are the purest form of offers. It allows one to stand with the victim in growing or developed codes, all while speaking in productive language. This forces everyone to be a salesman by selling deterritorialized space in order to purge paranoiac investments into he social field. Failure to do so will involve the social formation as the reason to complain about life. The terror of capitalistic space befalls on the subject who failed to wholesale deterritorialized space before capitalism deterritorialized non-comparative codes back to their productive codes. If individual within capitalistic spaces refuses to be in the business of wholesaling life-force, the individual must will himself out of a will-to-will. He keeps falling behind productive spaces. The vary own social formation becomes the reason to blame the individual for his own lack of success. Because every code must be intermediated by the social formation, all psychic repression becomes secondary. This means that oppression only exists within himself.

The double-bind works because the capitalistic space demands the victim has a choice. The problem comes when the despotic machine gives no choice but forces the gift to return. The solution is the have the gift return by productive codes. So he places the individual above him through condescending language. He gifts the gift through those measures, the individual is forced to give it back involuntarily because he was placed anti-positioned to space thorugh condescending language. But the victim also has choice in developed codes. The measure of one’s adultness by maintaining compose. It is giving oneself to emotion that the composure is lost. This is how the victim becomes trapped in the double-bind. If the victim gives into this emotional and “snap” back at his aggressor, he voluntarily returns the gift. But it would’ve return though the despotic machine nonetheless. But the still has the option to not return; This would make to difference.

Public Freakouts

Public Freakouts are confrontations between two strangers, non-politicized. Here, the miraculating-machine function between disjunctions and thus, the limit lies here – where the schizo lives and it become the greatest stressor. The aggressor must incept the subjected as “loser.” And the insulted must incept his aggressor as “winer.” This means that both parties split each other in two, 1) the physical subject and 2) the imaginary-subject. Here, we can play with Hegel’s reciprocal-recognition in that both subjects overstacks images on each other conducting inceptions within inceptions. We can not see clearly observe the formation of the pseudo-telekentitic apparatus from the limit.

Arguments follow the Aristotelian debates where the arguments themselves win and not subjects.

Alliances

Alliance insults are encounters between two family members, friends, or accomplices. With freackouts, the nature of them being strangers means that the insult does not end once the encounter is over. In fact, the encounter was the pre-insult phase where the imaginary-battle dramatizes into the psychic operation at home. It is about what return home. With alliances, each are near to each other if not at home. Thus, where we need to add intensity at the top of the production-machine where the separations between players produces residuum that form intensities (anger, resentment, revenge, etc). The intensity is the life-force that must travel all the way down the representations. Because it consumes alongside the production-machine freakouts must occur via anticipation because every valence level up “resets” the meraculating machine. With every image over-stacking upon each other, the intensities provide the “fuel” in order for the final product (life-force) to arrive at the original destination (level 0). That is the winner.

With alliances, we introduce the idea of love as sacrifice. This is why when a fight erupts between two old couples, it is often about petty things. Once the emotions cool down, the feeling of “getting back at each other” is sacrificed with feelings of being shortchanged at first. The production-machine required more intensities but the operation was pre-maturely abandoned. Life-force was exhausted somewhere along the way and never reached the bottom.

Outrage Culture

Outrage culture represents the politicized operation. Here, we must distill every party (right, left, middle, centrist) into subject and subjected-groups. The purpose of subject groups is to recruit subjected-groups. The subjected-individual must resist from identifying as fantasizing joining the subject-group but nonetheless, ends up joining.

We introduce anticipation (non-expectation). That evolves in 3-phases

  1. Parody. A child rebells against his parents only to become a parent himself. Then, he raises a child who rebels against him and the cycle repeats
  2. Allowance (permission) – the parent anticipates the cycle and allows his child to rebel to “get it out of him.” The parent provides a space for the child to rebel in a safe manner.
  3. Concealment – Here, we observe a gift that is meant to return. The insult is a gift in the form of desirous-revenge. Because the adult can not self-feel desirous-revenge (Christian, desire already arrives negated), he must pass it off as a gift. The gift is an empty package that contains negative momentum or, in other words, the insulted suffers a double-bind. He must return it voluntarily in productive-codes and, at the same time, return it involuntarily in growth-codes. This is what being “triggered” feels like

The workplace

The work place represents the center of the meraculating-machine where centrifugal forces oscillates back and forth. An insult in the workplace is a non-personal operational meant to assign libidnal forces into the

The social salesmen lies at the heart of the entire pseudo-telekentitic operation. During the paranoid era (the 2000’s) the way the salesmen self-deprecated himself, the more rejections he suffers, the more hours he works, the less job security he endured, marked the success at the end of his journey.

The 2010’s made the switch from the paranoid salesmen to the schizo salesmen. The harder one worked, the more he’s doing it wrong. We observe that the sales funnel or a click funnel made it to the English vernacular. Everybody know that money is just a piece of paper. Absurdities are more visible than ever. A salesmen who is selling a course on how to sell perfectly describes Deleuze and Gutarri’s notion of a product being consumed as soon as it is produced. A business that runs in a way that it builds other businesses is called a consulting business. Meraculating machines changes by the process that is inscribes on. The Social salesmen

Success itself is the prof-of-concept that business plans are written on. The social salesmen is everybody. Everybody is a business. When we insult, the social salesmen makes an offer. It simply returns. But how does it? The code (intensity) must be transferable. This means that comparative spaces (keeping up with the Joneses) are where business can compete with each other. Capitalism frees up codes so that they become even more comparable. Productive-codes represents the resistance to keeping the codes non-comparable. This is appropriative spaces that is flows-of-growth. The social salesmen makes an offer on flows-of-growth but uses the language-of-production to overcode them. Of what use is the insult someone if they “learn their lesson?” Insulting someone in simply means that the insulted is left in a better place to grow

The Wholesaler

The wholesaler then, must be creative to escape the forces of capitalism. The rise of passive-aggressive insults or condescending comments is visible among workplaces because of the accelerating rate of capitalistic-spaces. The package returns then, to the salesmen in productive-codes, meaning that he was conceived in productive spaces the whole time. The salesmen successfully wholesaled life-force and can now enjoy it in retail value (or make another offer).

The Broker

The broker can outsource the wholesaling process that he can disappear in presence. He builds a psychological structure to where life-force is syphoned in a hierarchical manner.

The feeling of insulting: how to be left shortchanged

It is generally thought that the person who instigates a confrontation automatically losses the confrontation. We might say that it’s because the instigator has a “vigilantism” to him. We might say that he’s betting on someone to be in the wrong place, at the wrong time, messing with the wrong person. Many would say that the instigator has built up resentment inside of him. He has the potential to do harm…he wants to… but he has to be vigilant for someone to make the first move. But this would be a mistake. Catharsis uses the language-of-production or what Deleuze and Guatarri call it – “Psychic repression.” D+G would like us to approach virtual (potential) and actual field differently. A potential field does not actualize as it passes from virtual to the actual field. But they are in constant communication with each other via partial objects. My book The Modus Operandi: is a theory about cowardliness. It’s about gift-giving and loving-capitalism vs. altruistic capitalism. How do adults repress desire but at the same time reproduce it? What does it mean to grow up to be an adult if both, youth and adult participants in flows-of-growth? Wouldn’t an insult place the insulted in a better place than the insulter if both participate in flows-of-growth?

This parody describes something like the rebellious teenager rebelling against his parents only to become a parent himself. Then, his child rebels against him closing the loop. Now we add “anticipation” to loving-capitalism: “we are tough precisely on those we love,” rather than altruistic-capitalism. Think of the college town who lives off tax dollars and protests for more socialist policies. Now we add permission (or allowance) to loving-capitalism: “it’s just a phase… they’ll grow out of it”. This idea of “letting the phase act itself out” may be precisely the reason why we are in the problem in the first place. Nobody needs to persuade anybody on becoming more conservative later in life. They already know. It always happens this way. Anticipation (not the psychic repression) is the concealed that unconcealed. i.e. “we allow you to rebel so that you will mature faster…” This unchallenged confrontation worries me because events begin to implode on itself. Once this catches hold, it cascades all the way down until we reach a point where time-events overcode themselves. This is why we can not simply leave a petty conversation. We are always left shortchanged. Even in the “negotiation stage” where both parties are meant to compromise. “the best negotiations are where both parties are left unhappy…” This is what Hegel described as “the death of subjectivity” and the rise of spirit. It is in spirit where contradictions are allowed to roam free. The dreaded dialectics.

Fantasy

We all fantasize about novel things. Yes we get those occasional lustful fantasies from both man and women, For men, they are those passionate sex scene with that girl we’ve been thinking about (if your not gay). For the most part, we fantasize about our immortalization in the symbolic realm. What distinguishes fantasy from desire? Well fantasy for the most part, is not real. Fantasy is generated hallucination. When we want to become apart of a group, that group is thinking about us thinking thinking about becoming apart of it within their minds. Why wouldn’t we want to become apart of a group of people with similar interests? Life becomes easier with friends because joining forces against the realities of life makes enduring worth it. The external field that influence wants and desires have initially set up parameters to make them desirous. Or rather capable of being enticing.

The subject group is already connecting individuals through the Body without Organs and fluctuating intensities emanate from them. Their fantasies tend to align with each other. Because we live in the 21st century, groups need not be actually present in real time. We can group-up cybernetically to create an extended conscious. The individual then fantasises about being apart of this group for the benefit of him.

But Oedipus is two sided or in Deleuze’s term: “double binded.” Because the group has to get the individual to want to become apart of the group, the subject group has to cast an allure of desire. That is to solve the individual’s existential angst. Death is the soul’s greatest frustration, therefore a calling to live for greater principles or to give up the life of pleasure becomes so appealing to the subjected individual. This is Nietzsche’s ascetic principle which states that the nihilistic individual will further deny life by giving up pleasure to cleanse his soul. This ascetic principle is the salvation to his wretched life. But the other side of Oedipus, that “double bind,” is that the subjected individual will also depart from the group as he is becoming apart of it. It establishes a tension that keep them connected. The individual resist the subject group from thinking that he is desiring to become apart of the group. Why? because that is the subject group’s main goal. The subject group resists the individual from thinking about revolution or overturning of the group. Both the subjected individual and the subject group have eachother or each other’s mind. Nietzsche’s Naive and Narrative Interpretation

Several criticisms of Nietzsche tend to go for the psychological or moral side of his philosophy. His critics attack him the basis of “he thinks he is better than everyone else because he understands this or that…” This can not be further from the truth. Even some historians pointed out that Nietzsche’s psychotic breakdown period drew connections to his writings where he constantly criticized his own weakness and failures as the basis for his philosophy. I want to do justice to his metaphysics and ontology rather than his moral statements. Many know him because of his concept of The Eternal Recurrence. For those who watches Todd May’s lecture of Deleuze’s interpretation of The Eternal Recurrence, it has an ethical interpretation and an Ontological one.

The Naive Interpretation

The naive interpretation of Nietzsche is where one confuses his ontology for his ethical one. They often think of the will-to-power as earned or attainable. This is because ethical choices leads to rewards for being good or consequences for being bad. The Naive interpretation attributes ressentiment, bad-consciousness, and the ascetic ideal to the feeling of impotence caused by the powerful imposing their authority. As opposed to those who hold the power to enslave the weak, the powerful is the cause for evil. Especially when referring to murder, rape, and torture, to the naive interpreter, these are caused by the powerful or the weak’s impotence to hold up. Here, the reactive powers (ressentiment, bad-consciousness, and the ascetic ideal) are assigned a psychology; a response mechanism to being downtrodden. Reading On the Genealogy of Morals, Nietzsche made it clear that he despises the English psychologist so much so that he mentions it at the very beginning of the book.

The other is the Narrative interpretation of Nietzsche where the reader understands the will-to-power through a series of moves. The “narrative” moves comes from the 3-structured polemic on On The Genealogy of Morals. The polemics are well structured pieces of prose that takes the reader on a series of thought. One can read it forwards and backward and derive clareboyancy from reading the book unconventionally. I will explain these interpretations by first going over the naive interpretation then explaining the narrative interpretation. In fact learning the naive interpretation is essential to understanding the narrative interpretation as it is embedded in it.

Ressentiment: The Naive interpretation

The naive interpretation goes like this… Two hypothetical tribes come unto contact with an unconquered tribe and the strongest tribe conquers both. The dominant tribe becomes the master class and the losers become the slave class. When Nietzsche reaches the the transvaluation of values in the middle of the first polemic, the naive interpreter can develop pity for the slave class, then hope in their overthrowing of their oppressor’s values. The values which belonged to the master class were defined as “good” then flipped to “bad” by the slaves. “Good” in ancient Greece or Ancient Rome did not have any moral connotation to it. Good was equivalent to clean, nobel, dominant, masculine, and powerful. Most importantly, “good” was the ability to assign and interpret meaning and not the consequences for utility. Or as the psychologists would say, “‘good’ is good because it is useful, it helped to serve society grow and function well.” The “bad” or slave class had no choice but to work in the shadows or learn to love secrets and work in dark corners. In a way, the naive interpreters are right, the slave class did not have freedom to make their own choices. But they’re wrong to say that they did not hold will-to-power. Both master and slave class hold equal will-to-power. With it, the slave class enacted that “spiritual revenge” on their masters because of the their weakness that infected the whole majority of society with ressentiment.

So then why if both classes held the will-to-power does one class (master class) dominate the slave class? It has to do with the slave class self-deprecating themselves. We’ll get to this when we get to the narrative interpretation. The naive interpretation continues into the second polemic and it has to do with how the slave class will identify themselves. The slave class re-identified themselves to be anything but their oppressors. The consequence is that the slave class pretends to enjoy what they do have and pretend to not enjoy what they don’t have. All they can do is resent the master class “have’s” at a distance. The slaves pretend to be fine with “have nots.” Already the naive interpretation develops a psychology of “sour grapes.”

Bad-consciousness: The Naive interpretation

Nietzsche asks the question where does guilt originate from. To the Naive interpreter, it came from the master class enforcing their power over the slaves. Spontaneity, potency, abundance laughter, over-indulgence, wealth, aggressiveness, joy, eccentricity, sexual fitness and availability, freedom, vigor, and demonstrative extroversion, all these life-affirming values would have to be compressed and buried deep inside the poor slave if he is to exercise power over their master’s values. Already it stinks of psychology. And not the good kind. The naive interpreter has to say that his heavy load of compressed life must be negated, rejected, and then purified to be washed clean. The ritualistic symbolism of baptism represent the washing of the dirty soul as a filthy, degenerate and impure human for the very fact that he was born. Thus the beginning of the Christian conception of the soul was born.

Before I get to the narrative interpretation and the materialization of the soul, I have to explain how the slaves managed to self-flagellate their symbolic souls. Nietzsche said that the start of society happens somewhere at first instance of trade. There’s no reason to trade an apple for another apple if one can trade an apple for two oranges. Trade is where people can measure oneself against another, that is to say, one can show their surpluses of life outward as a status symbol. It’s easy to fall into the trap of utility-psychology of this hypothetical society, arguing for fairness in commerce or organizing society into a fair state. Trade is a science and a useful one to the naive interpreters. It can be studied, tuned, and worked on in favor of a prosperous society. A society’s success is based on one’s commitments and obligation to fulfill his or her commitments. Those who break their commitments or promises are punished by those who control it.

When a creditor punishes a debtor, the creditor does so because of the debtor’s inability to pay off the debt. During the torture, the creditor can feel pleasure off the pain of the debtor’s suffering. The pleasure of watching someone suffer was the exchange of the missing payment. The debt must always be paid if society is to become resilient and reliable enough. Through torture and punishment, the creditor makes sure a memory is implanted into the mind of the debtor. The naive interpreter says, “ah! operant conditioning, a classical behavioral response. The punisher simply pairs up with pain with a condition to ward off unwanted behavior… See! The powerful abuse their power! The slaves are no more different than Pavlov’s dogs!”

The Ascetic Ideal: The Naive Interpretation

In the naive interpretation, a priest from the master race has to descend the slops to preach to slaves. The reason is the keep slave morality locked up and contained. If slave morality gets out, it could infect the larger population and cause an uprising. So the Priest becomes and ascetic prest. Asceticism is a practice where one abstains from pleasure and comfort for religious or spiritual reasons. The logic of the naive interpreter proceeds from before, if the master race contains the crowd, they can control these instincts for experiencing life. That’s why the ascetic priest preaches to the choir: the slaves already carry guilty or bad conscious, they were punished into submission because of their weakness and they denied themselves inwardly. The job of the ascetic priest was already made easier by this point. The slaves don’t want to feel or experience the pleasures of life, they want to be saved. The priest tells them what to do and how to do it. Guilty souls do not get saved unless they repent and purify themselves. They tell them that the carnal pleasures are “bad,” in the sense that the slaves made themselves bad, evil

The Narrative Interpretation: The Ascetic Ideal

Here is where we flip the hour glass and things fall into place. Because if the slaves created evil, then the priest can use this to their advantage. But what if the slaves wanted it in the first place? First we must understand what we have in front of us. Nietzsche only gave us half of the story if we read On the Genealogy of Morals from cover to cover. Early on, we sense Nietzsche give us clue on how the think genealogically. And that is when he said in his second polemic that the debtors actively seek their own punishment. In fact they welcome it. We can say, “of course they want it, the priest told them so, or “of course they want it, they turned themselves inwardly during their encagement process of negating life.

In any case, the end result was the overthrowing of the master class during the slave revolt. During rise of Christianity, the crucifiction of Christ marked the complete 180 degree flip of values. Good turned to bad and labeled “evil.” And bad turned to good and labeled “divine.” One could say “they had it coming.” But what if the slaves wanted someone to preach them? What if they desired it so much so that they welcomed in the priest to guide them and tell them what to do. One can argue, “of course they did, after generation of generation of torture, murder, rape, and suffering, they were intergenerationally traumatized.

The Narrative Interpretation: Bad-consciousness

We can say that the it is the fault of the master class for punishing their slaves into revolt. But the creditors did not punish their debtors out of revenge, but for the sake of restoring a balance. Maybe at the beginning, the slaves did suffer unjustifiably so. But as mentioned before, they welcomed their punishment. Why did they welcomed their own torture? Because they wanted to turn inward. They wanted to negate life and cage themselves into a weak and pathetic servant. They wanted to be guilty in a way to be saved. So they felt better after being flogged, whipped, burned, maimed, dismembered, slashed, suffocated, hanged or even killed. Nietzsche even said that life back then was brighter, greener, and more peaceful, not because of catharsis or psychological principle, but because both master and slave served with meaning.

This goes hand in hand with Foucault’s interpretation of discipline and punishment. Foucault’s accounts punishment is that torture happened in public squares and open spaces. A place where everybody can see the torture of the transgressor. The purpose of making torture public was to deter the population from committing the same acts of crime. When the population looked up to the torturer with sympathy. The scene was made into a sign of revolution. Punishment served the opposite effect. Now crimes could be committed for the purposes of being the one with the nose around the neck for everyone to see you. People got a hit out of watching public executions. Think of the French Revolution where the guillotine beheaded more and more people not less. Foucault said that torture moved inside buildings for only a select to see. But when internal revolution occurred because of it, torture and punishment moved into private cells.

The narrative interpretation: Ressentiment

We can sense from moving backwards that the slaves had supplied their own demand. They loved to be shamed and humiliated because they negated life. Like a disease, the world is infected with frugality, timidity, stoicism, limitation, moderation, purity, chastity, servitude, modesty, and forgiveness. They wanted more and more suffering for more repentance. All this for the hope of salvation of their souls because one day live they’ll live in peace and calm. They created heaven and hell from the very beginning and secretly wished their opponents to burn in Hell. They wanted a life that didn’t exist and negated the life they actually had. The infection that spread was the spirit of revenge. A creative revenge, a revenge where the master class would one day betray his own conscious and give up on life. This was the creative plan of the slave revolt The slaves created psychology. It is no wonder psychology is largely negative and filled with a sense of nihilism. Psychology steamed from the slave’s legacy. Nietzsche never choose a side, but it’s clear which side he despised and which side he feels a deep nostalgia for. But there isn’t any reason to suspect that Nietzsche’s life was somehow great or remarkable enough to despise christianity in his time. He was the son of a pastor and attended church regularly. He was constantly disappointed with life, love, and was constantly neurotic. If anything, he should show signs of being resentful of life. But held on to truth. He did something that the herd could not, stay truthful to oneself.

The Modus Operandi

An encounter has occurred. Someone used a backhanded compliment or someone shouted a little too loud or a little too close at someone’s face. Moments later, the confrontation erupts out of control like an over-heated pressure cooker. One can picture a bar fight. The setting, a crowded bar in midtown on a regular afternoon, where one goes to drown away their day’s worries. And one has to imagine if they will have to go through this situation one day. “Is it inevitable? Does uncomfortable, bad, or embarrassing situations happen without any of my control?”

The last post we talked a bit about genealogy of debts. We remain worthy of life by sucking life away from others. If we run out of life, that currency made out of blood and soul, we start to borrow it. We learned how we needed to confirm that the transaction of life-force symbolically happened. Symbols are not living entities, neither are souls, so transactions are symbolically fought in the meaning-making environment. The black marker of the “underground battleground” of the soul. Capitalist drives are made with this need to pay off debts similar to how they borrow money to create money through credit. By creating credit out of thin air perpetually, capitalist are able to produce new desires perpetually, constantly, and criminally. By accommodating individual’s basic needs, then further, basic wants, capitalist can claim meaning by responsibility. Thus, love is observing people go from, free but dangerously exposed to the elements to symbolically enslaved but safe. The byproduct of this is interpreted in what social standing your are in. The capitalist interpret this responsibility as love because the trade-off reveals the standard of living they give outweighs the freedom people are giving up. While the adult interpret this as socially draining. This awful attitude of complaining seen from the capitalists and insignificance seen from the adults at each other is devastating.

Ask a small child what comes to mind when he hears the word “business.” He’ll say buildings, skyscrapers, offices, desks, factories, computers and all the materialistic aspects of a business. Start with the physical brick-and-mortar structures that encapsulates people and their labour inputs inside. Beginning with the most central and crucial priority, a CEO begins with capital and determines how that capital will flow to extraneous operations. These extraneous operations are called externalities because for every output fulfilled, several externalities are created in the process. These externalities receive less and less funding from their respective distance to the C-Suite.

At every level, impulses to fill these externalities are taken by onlookers. They create their own labour in order to capitalize their inputs. Departments created inside the main branch are still relevant to the inputs which means that without being directly related to the product, externalities are still necessary. Not all externalities are created equal however. Necessary divisions include sales, accounting, legal, billing, training, R&D, HR, partners. Less vital operations begin to blur the line. These tend to be pushed outwardly from the main facility or place of business. So it begins with custodians, window washers, landscapers, electricians, and security. Then further out are landscapers, drivers, technicians, and plumbers until the most outer externality reaches another business which does business with them. One can see the connectedness of business and public access start to enclose one another.

That’s why traffic is the least pleasant part of the day for many commuters. Every inch of space is owned property that is managed. The path leading up the the door of the building is part of the business. The sidewalk that connects that path to the parking lot is owned. The sidewalk that connects the parking lot to the main road is not owned necessarily but still assigned a purpose. That main road, which connects to the street, which connects to the block, which connects to the strip mall, which connects to the highway, with every level out, people regain a little bit of their spaces. A sense of soft-competition rise out from people in these free spaces as if a want to expand and claim this territory as their own. To critique this view of spaces, a consequences of the bottom-up reductionist view of instincts, discombobulates their drives rather than focus it on expanding their territory. This is the reality of most people and It’s devastating to know of people whose moods and emotions are regulated this way. They are valves that their overseers and control and release. “Release some pressure, take a vacation, and come back refreshed and ready to work.”

What happens when an insult occurs. Do insults, embarrassments, and assaults escalates into confrontations because of loss of dignity? pride? Or were they exposed to the world differently? Was a debt left unpaid somewhere? Who initiates the fight? When the other is reacts. This moment marks the start of an encounter and momentum carries it over to bickering. The insulter is looking for a way to get the insultee to react. A flinch, a twitch in the eye, an intonation of the voice, redness in the face, an involuntary response that occured out of his control. Something has to get the opponent to “lose face.” Any response will do, even a verbal assault or a threat in return. What happens next is the insulter turns insultee, each other trying out-live each other until the winner is left standing with the life-force. It’s difficult to just leave it alone or “bit the bullet” as they say. The loser is left standing exposed in a world that he thought was one way, but in fact, was another. The world was more to the liking of the winner as he imposes reality of the situation onto him. If it’s a verbal argument, the words used to argue, mixed with emotions, expressions, and statements are the weapons used to battle for the life force. Just like a creditor tortures indebted slaves to “self-feel,” meaning that he enjoys the pain he inflicts on his debtor, the creditor does not get the actual payment in return but rather a chemical high. The insulter confirms the “self-feel” by himself when the insultee “plays himself.”

In debate class, we learn that a debate is never won or lost but suspended in arguments. In other words, the objective is to get the other person to “trip up on his words.” If the insultee can be “the bigger man,” and leave the encounter unscathed (not-give-a-fuck), he can pretend no transaction had occurred while reacting to the logical fallacies within. He can laugh it off or remain stoic. But the insulter can not know the inner state of “the bigger man,” the one who shrugs it off, unless he pins his arguments down loud and clear in his psyche. The insulter wants him to suffer cognitive dissonance, distress, and shame even after the confrontation has ended. He wants him to catch him in a moment of reaction, exposing his loss, and shame him for it long enough to leave him feeling some type of way. The insulter can create an inception, meaning that he can picture his opponent and losing over and over again in his own mind. What happens now is a meta-battle where the insulter can suck “life-force” perpetually from a mental image of his opponent losing the encounter. If the debtor (insultee) loses face, he agrees to becomes part of the creditor’s (insulter’s) inner world. The loser would have to give up life-force over to him for him to “self-feel” as well as perpetually in his mind! This implies the loser picturing the insulter picturing him losing life-force within the mental realm! This is the modus operandi of growing adults as they develop a kind of telepathic torturing device. A creditor in the modern age can torture his opponent at will giving him virtually unlimited “life-force” from one encounter where the debtor’s soul transfers from “losing face” because he affirms it. This underground battleground is largely depended on understanding this symbolic game, collecting accurate data from the world, and leaving as many people clueless about it. With this knowledge, he can build a modus operandi that works and can command life at will unto the social world with his mind. A successful modus operandi begins with people assimilating into already winning ideologies and powerful forces in order to branch out and create his own pain-inducing machine.

Here’s the problem of this view, if the insulter (or insultee turned insulter) want the insultee to “learn a lesson,” isn’t this person left in a better place than when he found him? If to conduct an inception is by having an accurate modus operandi, then would that mean that the loser would be better off. He’s learned something about the world even it he were shamed for it. Which is what the creditor need not happen. To give his debtor objective data mean he can conduct an inception just as well. Here, both parties turn into reactive-defensive which means that each are trying to win by losing. Or “he learned superficially but he didn’t really learn anything”. This is the “humber than thou” of Christianity. It is a cowardly stance because each are afraid to “give up the ghost”. And a clumsily inception, if any, occurs. This is why we hurt those closest to us. We know how to push their buttons. Defensiveness or coyness frustrates the flow of life-force and it gets stuck leaving everyone worse off. Love, means letting this flow through you. We teach those we love a lesson because “it for his own good.” In this corporate structure we build for ourselves, we can feel the “love” as growing adults climbing that corporate ladder. In school acclimbatize to the teacher-student dynamic. We are thought to be humble, to not let these insults hurt us, this leads to confusion as to what love it. Love is generated by confusion. Meanwhile our insulters take life-force from us, it is not that we don’t notice it, because if we don’t notice it, our opponents can not genuinely “self-feel.” But rather we redirect those insults as if we said it to ourselves, torturing ourselves because we are lowly animals that need to be tamed. But not idiots enough because we must be worthy opponents. An easy win is no win to corporate love.

While the insulter can leave and self-feel at that instant, to conduct a successful inception will depend on the personality of the person. The one who displays neurotic emotions are easier to get them to feel bad about themselves. This one will feel genuine depression. This is what the soul fight on. No remorse, not mercy unless confusion turns this to love.

We return to being stuck in traffic. It is common to want to look over at the faces those idiots who cut us off in traffic. We want them suffer at with our mere gaze. “Look how mad I am at you!” As we look in their eyes, we fantasize about how we can torture this complete stranger. Or how they crash their car by their own driving stupidity. We feel the need to operate an inception at every turn, in order to confirm that our modus operandi works. We need to be perpetually thinking of them thinking of us thinking of him in return torturing themself for a mistake we caught them doing. This is the dogmatic image of growing adults. This view states that souls starting out in the corporate-desire system means we accumulate more spiritual points as we develop a modus operandi. At every level up the corporate ladder, physical space gets invaded until our mental space is open ground for any inception by onlookers. This is why driving is the only activity left that can be done in a space uninvaded until someone conducts an inception form their side windows. This dogma of pretentious and condescending game is so cumbersome that many can not handle it. This all started because a CEO borrowed money to put into his business
